Health Edge Computerised Tracking, Traceability and Quality Audit Trail Systems

Application Suite:

The Application Suite is a modular tracking, traceability and quality audit trail software solution that that has been designed specifically for use in medical device decontamination units. The software solution can be used by people with little or no IT experience. The system allows the user to record the full medical device decontamination process and produce meaningful management reports within seconds. At each stage of the decontamination process the unique item code and unique operator details are recorded. All records are date and time stamped.
The Health Edge suite applications are constantly reviewed, and where required updated to ensure compliance to the appropriate regulations, standards and guidelines. All upgrades are provided free of charge to all customers with a valid Health Edge support contract in place.

Core Applications:

There are a number of core components required to operate our track and trace system, these are:

Administration Application

The Administration application is the backbone of the system. It uses clear simple Windows methodology requiring minimal keyboard input to operate its many functions. All records held in the system are simple to locate and report on, and adding new records could not be simpler. Most housekeeping tasks, including its hourly backup routine, are accomplished without any user input. The system enables the user to monitor all items processed through the decontamination unit and provides a comprehensive quality audit trail that documents as a minimum, the wash, packing and sterilisation process. All records generated are date, time, responsible operator, conformance or non-conformance stamped. The system can be utilised with linear and 2D data matrix barcode symbols and all types of single instrument marking technologies including Dot Peen, Laser Etch, Laser Bond, RFID and Key Dots. The system can be configured to ensure only trained operators conduct specific activities. Access to the module is password controlled.

Reporter Application

The Reporter application enables users with minimal IT skills to produce user defined meaningful management reports. Access to the module is password controlled. System administrators have the ability to interrogate all data held within the system and as a minimum can produce the following range of comprehensive reports: decontamination audit history, returns history, washer history, autoclave history, packing history, process history, profile, issue/billing and non conformance history. The module will enable departmental managers to identify trends, production levels, training needs and turnaround times. Reports can be produced by users selecting from dropdown lists and tick boxes thus eliminating the need for users to have knowledge of SQL, or rely on the supplier to produce bespoke reports. All reports produced can be downloaded to Microsoft Excel, PDF or XML format.

Washer Application

The Washer application enables users to record all sets and single items scanned through the manual wash, ultrasonic and automated wash process. Items returned into the wash room can be scanned onto the relevant washer carrier. Once complete, the carriers can be manually or automatically loaded into the appropriate washer. Permanent and temporary fast track items are displayed on the main processing screen. All records generated are date, time, unique product and responsible operator stamped. During the automated wash process the unique washer, washer cycle number, conformance or non-conformance will be recorded. The training aid function which is available in all applications enables operators to view images of tray sets and single items together with any supporting documentation.

IAP Application

The IAP application enables users to record all sets and single items scanned through the clean room. The application produces unique barcode tracer labels and tray lists for all items processed in the clean room, including supplementary items that are marked with a 2D data matrix code. Permanent and temporary fast track items are displayed on the main processing screen. All records generated are date, time unique product and responsible operator stamped. Users can select the type of tray sheet and tracer label they would like to use from the pre designed selection that is available within the settings function. Productivity levels can be displayed by shift, day, week, month or year. Operators are alerted when items reach their end of use state and where items need to be checked or replaced on a set. The training aid function which is available in all applications enables operators to view images of tray sets and single items together with any supporting documentation.

Autoclave Application

The Autoclave application enables users to record all sets and single items scanned through the autoclave process. Items in the autoclave room can be scanned onto the relevant autoclave carrier. Once complete, the carriers can be manually or automatically loaded into the appropriate steriliser. Permanent and temporary fast track items are displayed on the main processing screen. All records generated are date, time, unique product and responsible operator stamped. During the sterilisation process the unique autoclave, autoclave cycle number, conformance or non-conformance will be recorded. The support function which is available in all applications enables operators to view images of tray sets and single items together with any supporting documentation. The Autoclave application can be set to automatically dispatch all packs which have passed the sterilisation process to their default location.
